School Budget, Boards Up for Votes

“At 6 a.m., every patient that came in through the door was on the Electronic Medical Record,” said Mark Klyczek, president of the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, called “Care Connect,” allows medical professionals and administrators in the hospital and its outlying medical offices and clinics to access inpatient and outpatient records, Klyczek said. By doing so, it should cut the costs of medical treatments for the health care organization and its patients, and help patients stay healthier.
The Rochester General Health System, of which Newark-Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH) is an affiliate, initiated the $65 million Care Connect project several years ago. Rochester General Hospital, the system’s largest affiliate, went live with Care Connect
